Use your reminders sparingly and strategically to avoid desensitisation:

  • Use reminders for Calendar appointments
  • Remove reminders from Tasks and flagged emails
  • Eliminate new email alerts
  • Apply Alarms Appropriately

Too many reminders can render you numb when you need to be most alert. In fact, alarm fatigue poses a serious threat in hospitals, where it prevents medical staff from responding to patients’ needs.

Scale back the number of alarms in your life to maintain responsiveness and react when it matters most. Calendar alarms are helpful to capture our attention when we’re engrossed in work, ensuring we get to meetings on time.

Most Tasks don’t need to be done at a specific hour of the day, so don’t arm them with alarms. It should be sufficient to view them in the ToDo bar, alongside the Calendar.
