As we grow, and our company changes, it becomes more important to remember our original core values. Our core values carry over to our service and business strategies, and because of this our clients know they can always depend on us for exceptional service. The following are the ten core values the team at STS lives and works by:
1. Service That Results in a WOW!
At STS, our motto is, “Anything worth doing should result in a resounding, WOW!” WOW is a short, simple word, but it says a lot. To WOW someone, you must differentiate yourself, which means doing something beyond the expected. — Such as service and support that’s above and beyond the norm. STS isn’t your average IT provider; our service isn’t “average,” and we don’t hire people who are “average.” We expect everyone on our team to always deliver service that results in a “WOW!”
2. We Embrace and Drive Change
Without change, we aren’t growing. With any growing company, change is a constant. At STS we don’t fear change, we embrace it enthusiastically, and perhaps even more importantly, actively encourage and drive it. IT is constantly changing, so to excel in this business embracing and driving change for the betterment of our clients is a must. Although change can and will come from all directions, it’s important that most of the changes are driven from the bottom up—from the people who are on the front lines, and closest to our clients and their issues.
3. We Create Fun Mixed With A Little Craziness.
One of the things that makes STS different from a other IT providers is that we value have fun and being a little crazy from time to time. We don’t take ourselves too seriously; we should all be able to laugh at ourselves at times, finding a bit of fun and humour in our daily work lives.
This is our company culture, and what makes us successful. We love what we do, so why shouldn’t we express that we’ve having fun? We all function best when we can be ourselves. One of the benefits of accepting this behavior is that it encourages people to think outside of the box and be more innovative. This ends up being a win-win for everyone: Employees are more engaged in the work that they do, the company as a whole becomes more innovative, and our clients get exceptional service.
4. We’re Adventurous, Creative, and Open Minded
We believe it’s important for our employees to be bold and daring (but not reckless). We don’t want our staff to be afraid to make mistakes; just like in any sport, if you don’t fall down, you’re not learning. We encourage our staff to make mistakes as long (as they don’t harm our clients’ IT in any way!) so they can learn and grow from them.
In this respect, we won’t become complacent and accept the status quo just because it’s the way things have been done before. As an innovative and exceptional IT provider, we should always seek new solutions to issues. By having the freedom to be creative we approach situations and challenges with an open mind, and find new and better solutions for our clients.
5. We Pursue Growth and Learning
We want our employees to grow both personally and professionally; to constantly challenge and stretch themselves so they don’t feel like they’re stuck in a job where they’re not growing or learning. We believe that inside every employee is more potential, more than even he or she realises. Our goal is to help our team unlock that potential.
Just like employees need to grow, STS grows when we take on new challenges. It’s an endless cycle, and it’s a good thing; it’s the only way for an IT company to get better and stronger today. Yet, we know that no matter how much better we get, we’ll always have hard work to do more, we’ll never be done.

At STS we believe that openness and honesty through constant communication makes for the best relationships. We value strong relationships in all areas: with managers, customers (internal and external), vendors, business partners, team members, and co-workers.
Strong, relationships that are open and honest are a big part of what differentiates STS from most other IT providers. They are what allow us to accomplish much more than we would be able to otherwise.
Communication can be one of weakest spots in any organisation, no matter how good the communication is. At STS we always strive to go the extra mile by encouraging honest, complete, and effective communication.
7. We Work To Build a Positive Team and Family Spirit
We strive to create an environment that is friendly, warm, and exciting. We always encourage diversity in ideas, opinions, and points of view. We believe that, the best ideas and decisions are made from the bottom up. And at STS, these people are on the front lines and closest to our customers’ issues. The role of a manager is to remove obstacles and enable his/her direct reports to succeed. This means the best leaders are servant-leaders. They serve those they lead.
The best team members take initiative when they notice issues so their team and our company can succeed. The best team members take ownership of issues and collaborate with other team members whenever challenges arise.
At STS, our staff is like a family. Our bonds go far beyond the typical “co-worker” relationships found at most other companies. We take care of one another. STS also promotes a work-life balance. If our employees aren’t happy at home, they won’t excel in the workplace.
8. We Do More With Less
While we may be casual in our interactions with each other, we are focused and serious about the operations of our business. We believe in working hard and putting in the extra effort to get things done.
We also believe in operational excellence and realise that there is always room for improvement in everything we do. This means that our work is never done. We must continuously innovate as well as make incremental improvements to our operations— Always striving to be more efficient, and do things better.
We never lose our sense of urgency in making improvements. We never settle for “good enough” because good is the enemy of great. While our goal is to become a great company, we also want to become the greatest service company in the world. We set and exceed our own high standards, constantly raising the bar for competitors and for ourselves.
9. We’re Passionate and Determined

We believe in what we are doing and where we are going. We don’t take “no” or “that’ll never work” for an answer because if we had, then STS would have never started in the first place.
Passion and determination are contagious. We believe in having a positive and optimistic (but realistic) attitude about everything we do because we realize that this inspires others to have the same attitude.

10. Be Humble
While we’ve grown quickly, we recognise that there are always challenges ahead to tackle. We believe that no matter what happens, and what challenges we face, we should always be respectful of one another.
While we celebrate our individual and team successes, we aren’t arrogant nor do we treat others differently from how we would want to be treated. Instead, we carry ourselves with a quiet confidence because we believe that, in the long run, our character will speak for itself.
