Changes to come in cloud computing within decade

Though cloud computing is still new, it will undoubtedly continue to change and grow rapidly. As people get used to interacting with the cloud on the consumer level, their confidence in it increases, making it easier for them to contemplate using the cloud for business purposes as well. Analysts from Forrester have already predicted that the global cloud computing market will grow to $150 billion by the end of 2020.

There will likely be radical changes in all areas of cloud computing, including infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS) and software as a service (SaaS). Some of the biggest changes will take place in SaaS.  With time, we will see a sharp increase in the number of social software and apps similar to those found on the Facebook or Twitter pages that we access through our Web browsers.

Within a few years, we will see low-cost processors and cloud technology that will dramatically reduce the cost of computing and hardware. Also there will be faster Internet connections, which will allow people to transfer large amounts of data in a very short period of time. Virtualisation solutions will become more commonplace in the business world not only to guarantee the safe storage of company data but also to maximize server space.

As cloud computing grows in popularity and usage, we will continue to see new ways to leverage it for both business and personal activities. Security around the cloud will improve and before long, some businesses could successfully become completely paperless. Some are already trying.
